Letter From Superintendent

Dear Panther Families,

As we near the close of the 2024–2025 school year, I want to take a moment to recognize and thank our incredible staff. Their dedication, adaptability, and heart have been the driving force behind a year full of growth, learning, and success.

Our students in grades 3–8 have shown tremendous perseverance throughout the year, having completed three rounds of the new MAST Assessments and now preparing for their fourth and final round. This last stretch is their opportunity to show everything they’ve mastered—and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and determination. Way to go, Panthers!

Throughout the year, it’s been a joy to see our school come alive with meaningful connections, engaged learning, and memorable celebrations. From classroom milestones to community events, the spirit of Panther pride has been present in everything we do—and we’re already looking forward to building on that momentum next year.

As we head into May, we have some exciting end-of-year events to celebrate:
  • 🎡 Spring Carnival – May 15th: An evening of fun and festivities for students and families!
  • 🎓 Graduation Ceremonies & BBQ – May 21st: Help us honor our students’ achievements with a school-wide celebration and BBQ. Please note: students will be dismissed at noon.

Our teachers are wrapping up their final units and taking learning outdoors while the weather allows—making these last weeks both busy and enriching.

Please be sure to stay connected by checking the school calendar, our Facebook page, and website. We don’t want you to miss any of the fun as we finish strong.

Thank you for your continued support and for being a valued part of our Panther community.

With appreciation,
Mrs. Schnitzmeier

Dear Families,

I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all of the parents and guardians who have supported their children’s reading journeys this year. Your encouragement at home makes a big difference, and Pioneer School is truly grateful for your partnership.

It's hard to believe how quickly the school year has flown by!
As we close another exciting school year, the library is thrilled to celebrate all the amazing reading and learning that has taken place. Thank you for your continued support in fostering a love of books and stories!

S Top Readers Shout-out to our top readers in each grade! You're receiving a certificate and a small prize for your dedication—way to go!

p Important Dates
  • All library books are due back by May 7th. Please check under beds and in backpacks!

r Summer Reading Tips Reading over the summer is a great way to prevent the "summer slide" and keep young minds active! Here are some tips to make it fun:
  • Set a daily reading goal of 20 minutes.
  • Make reading a family activity—read aloud together or have a book picnic in the park.
  • Let your child choose books that interest them, including comics, graphic novels, and magazines.
  • Keep books visible and accessible around the house.
  • Use audiobooks during car rides or quiet time.
  • Encourage writing, too! A summer reading journal or simple book reviews can deepen engagement.
  • Visit your local library regularly for free programs, reading challenges, and new materials.

Thank you for a fantastic year! Enjoy a relaxing, book-filled summer. We can’t wait to see everyone again in the fall!

Happy Reading,
Mrs. Burns
