Kindergarten - Mrs. Hohn
Spring has finally arrived in the kindergarten room! It is hard to believe that the last month of school is upon us. Our class is getting very excited for the entire end of the year activities! On May 21st we will be joining the 1st & 2nd graders for a field trip to Zoo Montana....more details coming soon! Also, be sure to mark your calendars for kindergarten graduation and the last day of school activities on May 25th!
In reading the class continues to devour every book that we can get our hands on! The class continues to thoroughly enjoy reading with their 5th & 6th grade buddies twice a week. We really appreciate all that they have done to help with our reading success. We would like to thank Mrs. Michael and Lakia P for being our Mystery Readers for the month of April.
In math we completed chapter - 11 Exploring Adding and Subtracting. Everyone really seemed to enjoy this chapter! We are currently working on chapter 12 - Exploring Greater Numbers. This chapter focuses on counting and identifying the number of objects in a group to 31.
We are in the process of learning all about butterflies for science class. We have discussed various types of butterflies, their characteristics, life cycle, where they live and what they eat. The class had no idea just how many different known species there are! We had the opportunity to examine caterpillars close up and watch them transform into their various stages of development. It was a bitter sweet day when we released our Painted Lady Butterflies outside. We would like to thank the Pioneer PTA for purchasing our butterflies.
