When? The Science Fair will be held March 8, 2012. Judging will begin around 1 pm. Rooms will be open for viewing at 6:00 and awards will be presented at 6:30. The PTA dessert social will directly follow the awards ceremony. An Art show will also take place this evening!
Why? Cash awards will be given to First, Second and Third Place winners in the two age groups. There will also be one Grand Prize Winner for the entire Science Fair.
Exhibits will be judged on the scientific process and visual/oral presentation of the project. Use the attached information sheets to help prepare your project and yourself for the Science Fair. Projects will be judged on how well the process is stated on the board, how nice the board looks (neatness, coloring, spelling errors etc.) and how prepared the student is when the judges ask questions. Remember, sometimes the nicest looking projects may not win. The student must be well prepared to present their experiment.
Entry forms must be turned into Mrs. Nys by March 1st, and all projects must be completed and brought to school the morning of March 8. Please follow the requirements below. Entry forms must be signed by a parent in order for the student to be entered into the Science Fair.
We encourage all students to participate in this wonderful event. It is a great way to experience Science!
A note to parents: Please remember this is for the students and not you. Make sure that the student, and not an adult, does the work. Parents are not allowed to listen to judging.
