Pioneer School recognizes the special needs of children. The purpose of the Pioneer Gifted and Talented Program is to provide identified students with opportunities beyond the regular curriculum to broaden their knowledge, skills, and experiences. The District is committed to providing quality education services for all. It is the District’s philosophy to include students from all segments of the district population and to also include advanced learners in challenging academic services whenever possible.

The goal of our program is to provide challenging and engaging learning experiences while also providing additional opportunities for growth that will enable children with high potential, talent, and exceptional capabilities to develop to their potential. Emphasis will be on developing self-directed and independent learners while encouraging and supporting more in-depth learning with diverse and creative thinking skills.

May 2012
I was given an opportunity to attend the Montana AGATE Conference in Great Falls in April. It was one of the BEST conferences that I have ever attended! I have already integrated some of the strategies in both Gifted & Talented and Math. The kids been actively engaged in Brain-busters, learning the importance of Brain Energizers, and they especially love problem solving, "Whose Clues".

I recently gave my G.T. students some information on Camp Invention, which is a summer enrichment camp that is held at Harvest Church June 11-16. It is for students entering grades 1-6. Please feel free to contact me if your child is interested, I have some extra registration forms. You could also visit their website: www.campinvention.com for more information or to register online.
